Die brandneue Ergänzung der Turbosmart-Reihe ist das Frischluftventil ALV40 (Anti-Lag Valve) für Motorsportanwendungen. Es verfügt über einen Ventildurchmesser von 40 mm und ein speziell entwickeltes Aktuatorgehäuse. Zur einfachen Montage und Herstellung werden auch mehrere Armaturen mitgeliefert.
Das Frischluftventil ermöglicht die sichere Umleitung der einströmenden aufgeladenen Frischluft vom Turbolader in den Abgaskrümmer vor dem Turbinenrad bei niedrigem Öffnungswinkel der Drosselklappe, um ein sichereres Spulen des Turboladers zu ermöglichen, ohne dass es zu einem potenziell schädlichen, auf der Drosselklappe basierenden Anti-Lag im Stil eines späten Verbrennungsereignisses kommt, das zu hohen Motorbelastungen führen und Pleuelstangen brechen kann.
Das ALV ist eine abgedichtete Konstruktion mit zwei Kammern, wobei der obere Anschluss der primäre Steueranschluss ist. Die Feder ist so ausgelegt, dass sie sich unter Vakuumbedingungen öffnet, um die Luft in den Abgaskrümmer zu leiten. Die untere Kammer ist für Steuermethoden mit zwei Anschlüssen vorgesehen, um das Ventil unabhängig vom Krümmerdruck zu steuern, und die Wellendichtung ermöglicht einen leckagefreien Betrieb.
