Die Wastegate-Aktuatorreihe der Turbosmart VAG K03 IHI-Variante wurde als stärkerer, zuverlässigerer Ersatz für OEM-Teile entwickelt. Wie alle Turbosmart-Teile sind sie dank der Billet-Konstruktion stärker und langlebiger als ein serienmäßiger Aktuator, während Turbosmarts Fokus auf Leistung bedeutet, dass der Ladedruck schneller einsetzt und länger anhält.

Dieser Aktuator ist nur für Turbobaugruppen mit IHI-Kennzeichnung geeignet, da einige K03-Varianten nicht von IHI hergestellt werden. Zur Bestätigung der IHI-Marke ist eine Inspektion erforderlich. Ein Logo befindet sich im Gussteil auf der Saugseite des Kompressordeckelbogens. Darüber hinaus verfügen einige IHI-Turbobaugruppen über ein Stangenende, das dauerhaft am Klappenarm befestigt ist.
