This filter is a custom design which was developed to provide optimum airflow through our Eventuri housings where the filter is reverse mounted. It is a direct replacement for all of our intakes which use Eventuri carbon housings and will be fitted to all new intakes from 2018.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike many other intake companies who use a generic filter, we have carried out extensive R\u0026amp;D and invested significant funds into our own unique filter design, so that it is optimised in our Patent Pending reverse mounted configuration. The filtration medium is constructed from non-woven mesh and is ISO 5011 tested which conforms to the same filtration standard as OEM filters. The mesh is double layered and is dry which means that it will not damage MAF sensors with oil. Our filters feature 2 flow directing cones which have been carefully modelled to direct airflow as follows:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eInternal Cone\u003c\/strong\u003e – designed to help direct incoming airflow through the filter and to create an even velocity profile across the length of the filtration material. This cone effectively helps airflow disperse across the filter without turbulence.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003col start=\"2\"\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eExternal Cone\u003c\/strong\u003e – CNC machined, with a very unique profile, which was extensively optimised to help pull the airflow down to the center and transition smoothly into the downstream tubing. This cone creates a controlled region of turbulence around the tip which increases the convergence speed of the air, so that the connecting tubing has a higher velocity profile of airflow leading to the engine.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAirflow\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe resulting flow through the filter and also smooth at the exit of the intake, to the connecting tube is smooth with a high velocity profile. In real terms, this means that the engine is able to draw air very efficiently, and the driver will be able to notice a sharper throttle response, as well as the power and torque improvements. Where the engine has a turbo(s) it will be able to achieve peak boost earlier as it will be working with less resistance. Tests have shown that our systems reduce the waste gate duty cycle by a significant percentage over the OEM system.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe following diagrams are CFD simulations showing velocity streamlines through our system – with the new filter and the original filter. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eResulting Improvements\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThrough Dyno testing the Eventuri intakes back-to-back with the original filters vs the upgraded filters, we have found an additional power and torque gain. This validates our theoretical modelling and proves that the upgraded filters really have a significant impact on the airflow through the intake. The power gains over and above the original filters vary between vehicles, but here are some of the results we have measured so far. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than the stock inlets by maintaining a larger diameter all the way to the turbos. The stock inlets narrow down immediately after the connection to the intake which creates a restriction especially at higher boost levels. We have alleviated this restriction and also designed the curvature to be as smooth as possible allowing the turbos to reach peak boost sooner.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eDuring development we also tested inlets with larger openings and redesigned the intake to have an oversized connection to the inlets. However, tests showed no further benefit and so we proceeded with this version, which allows our current intake to be used without any modification while producing the best performance gains.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe intake was tested on the road using Dragy to record the acceleration from 60-130mph . Testing was carried out on the same stretch of road and on the same day to keep the variables minimum. Now in the updated V2 design, it features sealed filter housings to maintain a more steady IAT, even while stationary. The new shrouds which seal the housings, coupled with our scoop and shield combination ensures unrestricted airflow whilst maintaining low IATs through cold air saturation. Our large front air scoops transfer ambient air directly into the intake area thus ensuring the engine doesn’t suffer from heat soak. In addition, our gold heat-reflective lined shields have integrated flow guides which direct the ambient air from the scoops into the filters. We have also managed to increase the inlet tube cross-sectional area by over 30% compared to the stock intake as it feeds through the openings in the strut braces.
